Microsoft announced on September 4 that it is partnering with TCL to bring the Xbox app to select TCL smart TVs in the coming months. The rollout is expected to reach millions of TCL TV users across more than 25 countries, allowing supported models to stream Xbox games without a console.
Players will need the Xbox app on a compatible television, a supported controller and cloud playtime included with Xbox Game Pass or purchased separately. Eligible Game Pass members can access a library of cloud-playable titles through Xbox Cloud Gaming. Microsoft says games, friends, achievements and save data will continue to follow the player across supported televisions, consoles and PCs.
