You use cover, the environment, and careful positioning to suppress enemies, and rely on your companions' powerful skills to turn the tide in critical situations. You can recruit a retinue of righteous heroes, twisted psykers, and cunning xenos; they offer advice and combat support, and each carries their own personal storyline whose fate you can steer. Nearly every decision in the game — including the choices made at character creation — changes the open world and the state of its inhabitants. In missions you can show mercy or contempt, remain loyal to the Emperor, or deal with the enemies of mankind. The game supports Windows and macOS, launched originally on PC, and is known to support at least eight languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, and Russian.
