VTOL VR is a near-future virtual reality air combat flight simulator developed by the US indie studio Boundless Dynamics and released on Steam (Windows VR only). Using a VR headset and tracked controllers, players step into a fully interactive first-person cockpit and operate the thrust lever, switches, and weapon buttons with their hands, even pulling the ejection seat for a flight experience that feels close to the real thing. The game features flyable aircraft including the AV-42C tiltrotor, the F/A-26 attack jet, and the F-45A stealth multirole fighter. Each aircraft carries swappable weapon loadouts—cannons, rockets, missiles, bombs, and more—and a realistic avionics suite with head-up displays, multifunction displays, radar, infrared flares, and chaff. Game modes include a linear campaign, training missions, free flight, and user-created missions and maps from the Steam Workshop, alongside online multiplayer for co-op and versus play. Players also take on demanding operations such as aerial refueling, carrier catapult launches, and arrested landings, and can direct AI wingmen with voice commands or talk to ground control and AWACS over the radio. The game requires Windows 10 and is compatible with SteamVR, Meta Quest Link, and OpenXR. Simplified Chinese interface and subtitles are supported.
