Vindictus is a 3D action MMORPG developed by the South Korean game company Nexon, set in the Western fantasy world of the continent of Ertaina, which is threatened by demonic forces. After creating a character, players gain experience by hunting monsters in the wild, clearing dungeons, and fighting world bosses to raise their level, while learning class skills and collecting equipment to increase their combat power. The game is mainly known for its lock-on-free combat system and fluid action feel, and supports co-op features such as four-player dungeon parties. The game first began open beta testing in South Korea in 2004, and later launched its international Steam server across multiple regions worldwide. The mainland China server is operated by Taren Network, and the game's Chinese name is Vindictus.
