Rainbow Six Siege is a 5v5 team-based tactical shooter developed by Ubisoft Montreal. It first launched on December 1, 2015, for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The game uses a free-to-play model: you take on the role of operators drawn from special forces around the world, each with unique equipment, abilities, and play styles. Matches are played in attack-and-defense rounds: each round, attackers must breach the defenders' objective area or bomb site within a time limit, while defenders use fortifications, surveillance devices, and traps to hold it. The game emphasizes tactical coordination, team communication, environmental destruction, and information gathering over raw aim. With each season update, the game keeps adding new operators, maps, and balance adjustments, and features a ranked system for competitive play. It also supports solo training, co-op against AI, and custom matches.
