Tears of Metal is an action indie game developed by Paper Cult, a studio based in Montreal. It is currently in early access. The game is set on a Scottish island overrun by foreign invaders: the fall of a meteor known as the “Dragon Stone” drew in hordes of invaders and brought with it a mysterious and dangerous power. Solo or with up to three friends in co-op, you lead a Scottish warband and fight your way across vast battlefields to stop the invaders from mining the Dragon Stone's energy and take back your homeland. Each run starts with powerful badge synergies, and during battle you can collect over a hundred relics and combine them freely, pairing them with several playable heroes to create devastating unique builds. Soldiers earn permanent skill upgrades between runs, growing into stronger fighters as they accumulate experience. The camp system offers expansion options between runs, unlocking new shops and permanent upgrades, and even higher-difficulty challenges that award richer rewards. The game features more than 45 hand-crafted environmental scenarios with plenty of objectives and variety. You can recruit and upgrade Scottish soldiers, leading them to gain experience and grow stronger on the battlefield. Completing special objectives uncovers new relics, playable characters, cosmetics, and combos, and the war-torn battlefields hide plenty of secrets to discover. Play solo or with up to four players in online co-op.
