Team Fortress 2 is a free online multiplayer action game developed by Valve. It launched on October 10, 2007, and became free to play in 2011. Set in a stylized, cartoon-like world, it pits RED and BLU teams against each other. Its defining feature is a roster of nine distinct classes: Scout, Soldier, Demoman, Sniper, Medic, Engineer, Heavy, Spy, and Pyro. Each class has unique weapons, abilities, and a tactical role suited to different play styles and levels of experience. Modes include Capture the Flag, Control Point, Payload, Arena, and King of the Hill. Free updates have continued to add maps, equipment, and cosmetic items, while gear can be collected, crafted, purchased, and traded. Training and offline practice modes help newcomers learn each class. Built around teamwork, Team Fortress 2 rewards class coordination and tactical execution. It supports Windows, macOS, and Linux.
