About ROUTINE
ROUTINE is a first-person sci-fi horror game set in an abandoned lunar base built around an 80s vision of the future. Playing as an astronaut, you explore a moon station that has lost all contact with Earth and, while searching for the truth, discover that you have become the target of an unknown threat.
ROUTINE is a first-person sci-fi horror game developed by Lunar Software and co-published by Lunar Software and Raw Fury AB. The game is set in a lunar base built around an 80s vision of science fiction: after the base suddenly loses all contact with Earth, you land on the moon as an astronaut on a search mission, only to find the entire base abandoned, with danger lurking around every corner. The core gameplay revolves around exploration and observation. There are no waypoints, so you must study your surroundings carefully and read terminal data to gradually piece together what really happened at the lunar base. The game's "Computerized Assistance Tool" (C.A.T.) is a central system: you rely on it to access terminals, identify clues, and, when necessary, as a last-resort means of survival. ROUTINE uses a full-body avatar perspective, realistic audio, and a minimal HUD to build an immersive, oppressive atmosphere. Players can choose to explore, hide, or defend themselves when facing the unknown threat. The station's areas range from abandoned shopping malls to ruined living quarters, each with its own distinct visual style. The game launched on PC (Windows) and was later released on Xbox. The Steam page notes that the game contains frequent violence or gore and is suited for adult players.
