Resonance is a first-person action game developed by a first-year student team in the Creative Media and Game Technologies program at Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas), built with Unreal Engine 5.5. You play as Maria, a girl with mysterious telekinetic abilities, imprisoned inside a dark government facility. The core gameplay revolves around telekinesis. You can grab enemies at a distance and hurl them into walls or into other enemies; lift environmental objects such as furniture and cover to use them as shields against bullets or launch them at foes; and unleash a wide-range telekinetic shockwave that shakes the ground and sends enemies flying. As the levels progress, you must adapt and improve your skills to handle increasingly complex obstacles and enemy setups, with the ultimate goal of escaping the facility. The game uses a predominantly black-and-white palette, oppressive and gloomy, and the hum of the facility's machinery and the clash of metal create a strong dystopian noir atmosphere. The game is labeled as containing violence against humans, shooting scenes involving children, and depictions of blood, making it a work with clearly violent content.
