About Portal

Portal is a first-person puzzle game developed by Valve in which players solve physics-based puzzles with a portal device inside the Aperture Science laboratories.

Portal is a first-person single-player puzzle game developed by Valve, released on October 10, 2007, originally as part of The Orange Box bundle. Set in the mysterious Aperture Science laboratories, the player takes on the role of a test subject who must solve a series of physics puzzles using a handheld portal device. Players place two portals on surfaces such as walls and floors; objects or characters that pass through one portal emerge from the other, and this mechanic is used to bypass obstacles, cross distances, or achieve specific conditions. The game is designed to change how players think about, manipulate, and infer possibilities within a given environment. Portal includes 15 Steam achievements and supports audio in 27 languages. The minimum system requirements are a 1.7 GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM, and a DirectX 8.1-compatible graphics card.
