Marvel Rivals is a 6v6 team PvP third-person shooter set in the Marvel universe, co-developed by Marvel Games and NetEase Games and released on Steam on December 5, 2024. Each match pits 12 players against one another in 6v6 battles, with every player choosing a Marvel superhero to build their team. The key mechanic is Team-Up: combining the abilities of different heroes creates unique joint skills, and that synergy is where most of the game's strategic depth comes from. Matches take place in destructible, ever-changing battlefields drawn from classic locations across the Marvel universe. Content arrives in seasons, with each season adding new heroes, maps, and story. Every hero is free to unlock from the start; revenue comes mainly from cosmetic skins and the battle pass. On PC the game is free to play through Steam, and a PlayStation version is also available.
