How Many Dudes? is a strategic auto-battler roguelike developed by Butterscotch Shenanigans. Its central system is Dude-building: players recruit and manage an army of varied characters at Dude Camp. There are 42 Dudes across six families—Undead, Corporate, Warrior, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, and Action—with synergies such as a zombie that explodes when struck, a ninja that throws shuriken, and a cowboy that rescues allies with a lasso. The developer states that more than 850,000 lineup combinations are possible. Relics and Trinkets shape each battle. Relics change combat rules, such as making a wizard cast fireballs while moving, while Trinkets strengthen particular Dude types. Enemies escalate from unruly children and wolf packs to gorillas and gods, with three challenge levels and multiple bosses. Daily Dude is a limited-time mode, Ensemble Mode allows free character selection, and Wandering Dudes appear through random events.
