Fogpiercer is a turn-based tactical roguelike card game with a steam locomotive theme. A deadly fog is spreading across the world and humanity's future hangs in the balance. Players assemble their own train, choosing different engines, cars, and crew members to determine their starting deck, plan a route through a dangerous world full of bandits, and face intense turn-based tactical combat that demands precise coordination, clever positioning, and carefully chained reactions. The game features more than 170 cards covering a wide range of status effects, support abilities, and damage options. Players can gather resources like coal to upgrade or buy extra cars and add more tactical choices to their deck. Regional routes branch heavily, with each node offering different risks and rewards; some battlefields are compact, while others sit next to cliffs where the environment can be used to kill enemies. Each region ends with a boss fight, and enemies have their own backstories and abilities. A meta progression system unlocks new engines, cars, and crew members, and lets you upgrade existing content for more card options. The game emphasizes winning against the odds: each turn has a limited pool of action points, so careful planning lets you overcome superior numbers — use artillery to destroy an enemy's lead vehicle and send it careening into the ones behind, use hacker cards to create false targets that make enemies fight each other, or use the terrain to push enemies off cliffs or into one another. The right order of operations can trigger devastating chain damage.
