Crimson Desert Enhanced is an open-world action adventure game developed by Korean studio Pearl Abyss, originally released in 2025. The Enhanced edition followed later, and owners of the original game can upgrade to it for free. The game takes place on the continent of Pywel, following Klev, a member of the Gray Mane faction. After a night raid by their archenemy Black Bear leaves the Gray Mane with heavy losses and its members scattered, Klev sets out to cross the continent, find survivors, and rebuild the faction. Along the way he meets new allies and confronts enemies that threaten the continent's order, shaping his own story. The Enhanced edition adds cutscenes and story content on top of the original, plus multilingual voice acting and all post-launch update content, for a richer narrative experience. Combat is real-time action, where a single attack or movement choice can tip the fight. You develop skills, weapons, and equipment and pick your own approach to battle, since there is no fixed optimal solution. Multiple playable characters are available, each with different skills and growth paths. The Enhanced edition adds voice acting in German, French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Japanese, plus Arabic interface translations. Since release, the game has added more than 20 new features and content across 17 patches, including over 120 new mounts and pets, over 70 new equipment and outfits, a home customization system, mini-games such as claw machine, pinball, and bounce ball, fish farming, and cross-platform saves. The game contains violence and gore, as noted on Steam, and is primarily a single-player experience.
