BeamNG.drive

BeamNG.drive is a realistic driving simulation built around soft-body physics. Nodes and beam springs simulate every vehicle component in real time, producing convincing crashes and deformation. Dozens of deeply customizable cars and trucks can be driven across 12 large open-world environments spanning tropical forests, deserts, cities, and highways. Campaigns, scenarios, time trials, and free roam are joined by mods, Workshop content, and vehicles imported from Automation.

BeamNG.drive is a realistic driving simulation developed by independent German studio BeamNG and built around soft-body physics. Unlike conventional rigid-body systems, it models vehicles as networks of mass nodes and spring-like beams. Wheels, suspension, engines, and other moving components respond and deform in real time, creating physically and visually convincing crashes and damage. Dozens of detailed vehicles, from passenger cars to heavy trucks, allow extensive adjustment of tires, suspension, engines, and other parameters. Twelve open-world maps cover varied terrain including tropical jungle, desert, urban streets, and highways. Players can explore freely or complete deliveries, races, pursuits, and scenario objectives. Four major modes structure play. Campaigns offer linear missions with increasing difficulty. Scenarios use specific themes such as urgent delivery or police pursuit. Time Trials combine a chosen vehicle and route in a search for the best result. Freeroam opens the maps and allows environmental experiments with settings such as wind and gravity. A built-in level editor and extensive mod support let the community add vehicles, maps, and scenarios. Integration with Automation allows custom cars designed there to be exported into BeamNG.drive. The game entered Early Access on Steam on May 29, 2015. It supports single-player and multiplayer, first- and third-person views, VR, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese interfaces.
