The game is a remake of the classic kids' baseball game released by Humongous Entertainment in 1997. You pick one of 30 characters with distinct personalities to be your batter or pitcher, build up to 24 teams, and compete in 11 remade stadiums. Six modes are offered: Pick-Up Games, Batting Practice, League Play, the Backyard Bash home run contest, plus fun modes like T-ball and Wiggle Ball. The game has an unlock system and achievements, along with over 20,000 voice lines and 17,000 lines of dialogue. Charging the wheel meter triggers special ability balls (fire ball, ice ball, and more) and power hits (crazy bunts, ground balls, and more). There are no in-app purchases; items are unlocked through gameplay. Several accessibility features are included, such as adjustable difficulty, full keyboard/mouse and controller support, save anywhere, custom volume, and subtitle options. It also offers two swing-timing modes, Modern and Classic, to suit different player habits. League mode supports systems such as season statistics, league leaderboards, and night games.
