Aloft is a cozy survival-crafting game set in a world of floating cloud islands. Players pilot airships built from modified islands to explore the vast sky, discovering new floating islands, gathering resources, and crafting tools and structures. The game emphasizes free exploration and creative building: players can customize their island airship, setting up a rudder, sails, and windmills, and automate production with a system of cables and pulleys. Wind is a core mechanic — players can use strong winds to speed up crafting and sailing, but must watch the load limits of their sails. The game includes a complete survival loop of resource gathering, cooking, farming, ranching, and combat. Three distinct biomes await exploration, and island ecosystems change in response to player activity. An invasive fungal threat exists in the world: players must defeat mushroom-like enemies and brew antidotes to save animals and islands, restoring biodiversity and making them more resilient. Deeper exploration also uncovers ancient ruins and lost knowledge. The game is currently in early access, playable solo or with up to 8 players in co-op, and features both private worlds and public lobbies. It is developed by an independent studio and published by Funcom.
